While the rest of your network is sharing images of their children’s first day back to school, we want to share our favorite back-to-school photo of the week! Residents in our Life Plan Communities filled backpacks for school-aged children of our staff. With employee donations that included crayons, pencils, pens, markers, erasers and notebooks, residents stuffed more than just school supplies into these backpacks. We’re certain they managed to drop in some love and encouragement for academic achievement, too!

Thanks to the generous spirit of staff and residents alike, nearly 130 local school children were well stocked and supported as they started their scholastic endeavors this year. This effort is one of many at Goodwin House that support more than 100 local charities. Goodwin House residents, members and staff touch thousands of lives across Northern Virginia through donations of talent, time and financial contributions.
