Goodwin House Incorporated Featured in New York Times Article on Selecting Retirement Homes

April 30, 2018 – – The New York Times – How to Talk About Moving to a Retirement Home – It’s a Journey – New York Times journalist Pete Finch takes an in-depth look into the factors that older adults consider when exploring whether to move into a retirement community and which one. Drawing on insights from Life Plan Community (LPC) executives including Lindsay Hutter, Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer for Goodwin House Incorporated (GHI), Finch reports that the best way to evaluate a retirement community is to visit and experience the community firsthand.

“You can always go for a meal just to experience what it’s like,” said Hutter. For example, nonresidents can join the Goodwin House Priority Club and use the restaurants and participate in activities. If they decide the community is not for them, the Priority Club fee is refundable. It’s really a risk fee way to test-drive a community.
