Alexandria, VA – Goodwin House Incorporated (GHI) has been named one of The Washington Post’s 2020 Top Workplaces in the Washington, D.C. area. This is the second year in a row that Goodwin House received this honor.
GHI is especially honored to be recognized because selection is based solely on employee feedback gathered through an anonymous third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC. The Energage survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution and connection.
“Now in its seventh year, The Post’s Top Workplaces list continues to highlight the companies that are leaders in the Washington-area in terms of employee engagement and satisfaction,” said Washington Post Top Workplaces editor Dion Haynes. “We had a record number of employees participate in the survey this year, making it clear that these organizations have made cultivating an atmosphere of support and respect a priority.”
As a leader in senior living and healthcare services, Goodwin House celebrates the uniqueness and diversity of its staff members. Its nearly 900 employees represent more than 65 different countries. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Goodwin House nurses, care partners, dining staff, maintenance workers, environmental services staff, life enrichment, and so many more have worked selflessly on the front lines to care for residents, members, patients and one another. Through its Life Plan Communities, Goodwin House at Home program and a range of health care services – including Goodwin House Home Health, Goodwin House Home Care and Goodwin House Hospice – Goodwin House supports, honors and uplifts the lives of nearly 2,000 older adults every year.
“The contributions our employees continue to make every day – especially during the difficult circumstances caused by the pandemic – help us grow as individuals and as an organization,” said Chief People Officer Fran Casey. “As Goodwin House continues to expand its ability to serve and reach more older adults across the region, our employees continue to welcome new colleagues and all those we serve with open arms and open hearts. Our staff are what make Goodwin House truly a Top Workplace.”
The full list along with additional content will run in print in a special Top Workplaces magazine on October 14 and will be available on The Post’s site. The Washington Post will also host an awards ceremony in October to recognize the 200 top-ranked companies.
