Goodwin House Foundation

The Goodwin House Foundation (GHF) serves a mission to generate resources for Goodwin House Incorporated (GHI). These resources provide support for current and future residents in need and fund programs dedicated to the well-being and vibrant living of older adults. GHF strengthens the mission of GHI by providing financial support. We are committed to the belief that aging with dignity and grace includes freedom from financial worry.

Since Goodwin House opened in 1967, no resident has had to leave their home for a lack of financial resources. The Foundation fulfills this promise of “Fellowship” through the Goodwin House Foundation Fellowship Program. Thus far this year, the Foundation has provided $525,000 in Fellowship support. We anticipate that number could increase to as much as $650,000 before the end of this fiscal year (September 30, 2018). In the past, we have provided as much as $1,200,000 in Fellowship support to residents within a one-year period.

As a 501(c)(3) supporting foundation, GHF offers many other programs that benefit residents, employees and older adults in Northern Virginia. The collaborative spirit of giving that characterizes donors to the Goodwin House Foundation makes these programs possible.
