February 19, 2019 – Alexandria, VA – Goodwin House Incorporated (GHI) is inviting local community partners to participate in summits to discuss the Dementia Friendly American (DFA) movement and how we might bring it to the Northern Virginia region. Two summits will occur in late February, one at each Goodwin House Life Plan Community.
January, 2019 – Alexandria, VA – Goodwin House Incorporated (GHI) recently completed a multi-year, $70 million investment throughout its Goodwin House Alexandria campus. This investment created the new GHA Small House Health Care Center – the largest of its kind in the Mid-Atlantic. Other new features include dynamic common areas for dining and life enrichment, as well as a new state-of-the-art assisted living area called “The Dominion.”
December 17, 2018 – Alexandria, VA – Goodwin House was selected one of the top vote-getters for “Best Senior Living Communities” by the readers of Arlington Magazine. Every year, the magazine conducts a “Best of Arlington” poll. Both Goodwin House Life Plan Communities were included in the poll results.
December 17, 2018 – Alexandria, VA – As we near the end of 2018, LeadingAge posted a reminder about the 2.8 percent COLA (cost-of-living adjustment) increase that the Social Security Administration announced back in October. December 14, 2018 – Alexandria, VA – Goodwin House Incorporated was one of ten organizations that provided financial support for an independent economic impact study conducted by LeadingAge Virginia. A 64-page report, “Market Needs and Economic Impact of LeadingAge Virginia Members” details current financial impact of the 133 LeadingAge Virginia members as well as projects future impact.
